Hills District Mac Support (HDMS) is an independent, registered business based (not surprisingly) in the Hills District of northern Sydney NSW Australia (that’s at the other end of the M2!). The business is focussed on providing personalised and timely professional-quality Apple Macintosh system support, backed by hardware and software sales and a range of other services.
Background
The business was established in 1998 under the name Remote Access when I moved from Sydney to Wagga Wagga in Country NSW. Having spent the previous three years working in sales and support roles for an Apple Masters Of Media reseller as part of an on-going love affair with all-things Mac that began in 1989 with a Mac Plus, it was the natural thing to do - and as I soon found out, I was virtually the only Mac service business providing support in a 500km radius! With customers ‘out bush’ and some still in Sydney to be looked after, Remote Access seemed the obvious choice for the business name!
I returned to Sydney in 2001 and settled in the Hills District of northern Sydney, continuing the business by providing Mac service and support across the Sydney Metro area. In 2008 I decided it was about time to update the business name to reflect what it had become after ten years of continuous trading, and also to distinguish it from the myriad of ‘other computer’ support businesses around. Thus the Remote Access monika was retired and the baton passed on to Hills District Mac Support. (See - always thinking different...!)
